Residents in Grand Rapids got the shock of their lives on Saturday morning when a tall man, dressed in elvish clothing, suddenly appeared walking down the city streets. He seemed to be minding his own business, but an anonymous civilian called the police a few minutes later, stating that the man was openly wearing lethal weapons. Police rushed to the scene to apprehend the man, who was in possession of a well-made bow and quiver of arrows, as well as a dagger. When questioned, local police chief Eric Payne said that he appeared disdainful and snobbish, and was unwilling to reveal anything about himself.
After a short skirmish, the man was captured. He is currently being held at the police station, and precautionary measures are being taken to ensure that he does not escape.
However, as if one character isn't enough, a short, stocky fellow clad in ancient armor was spotted the next morning around the same time. This dwarf-like man proved to be a more difficult one to deal with, as he had an axe that could, according to him, cleave an orc in two with one stroke.
He was captured with a bit more of a ruckus than the previous man. After his axe statement, police were able to determine that he is either severely deranged, or actually from a place that no one would expect. Could it be that acclaimed author J. R. R. Tolkien's Middle Earth actually exists, and that a portal has been opened between said earth and ours?
The clincher took place when an unusually small teenager appeared in downtown GR on Monday morning. His apparel was much like the elf's, and he carried a dangerous looking dagger. When confronted by a few police officers, he suddenly disappeared, leaving nothing but a shadow in the mid-morning sunlight, which the officers futilely attempted to tackle. Mrs. Lacey Adams of East Grand Rapids states that a small young man appeared on my front lawn around noon, and he said his name was Frodo Baggins. We had quite a good conversation. He's really very nice, and I believe that he is who he says he is.
As of this morning, Tuesday, October 6th, he has not yet been found. He is believed to be somewhere in the vicinity, as locals continue to have interactions with a human of his description. Police are delving into this case, as it's one of the strangest ever recorded and promises to lead onto, literally, untrodden ground.
